Reverse Helix Trommel Secondary

Designed to maximize fine gold recovery, this secondary system automates the tedious panning process.

The Extraction Process

  1. Initial Wash: Material is added to the hopper where it receives an initial wash.

  2. The Reverse Helix: Washed material flows into the 33-inch long, 7-inch wide barrel containing a 45-foot Reverse Helix Screw. This design provides maximum processing time to capture all gold.

  3. Continuous Slurry: Inside the barrel, a full-length spray bar continuously washes the material, keeping it in a slurry.

  4. Separation: Lighter material washes out the back into a waste bucket. Heavier, valuable material stays caught in the grooves of the reverse helix screw and is forced to the front.

  5. Spiral Wheel Finishing: Heavy material drops from the trommel mouth directly into a standard 12″ Desert Fox Spiral wheel.

  6. Final Polish: The spiral wheel slowly and meticulously washes away black sand and unwanted materials, moving the pure gold up the riffles and safely into the collection cup.
